Final Fantasy XIII is part of the project known as Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII. SquareEnix has explained that FFXIII, FFXIII Versus, and FF Agito XIII all take place within the same universe. All games are related and are not sequals, nor prequals to one another.

The game runs on a system known as the Crystals Engine and was orginally used to develop FFXIII for Playstation 2. As a result of using the Playstation 3, it takes advantage of the cell processor in order to handle various effects, sounds, scenes, and other special graphical features.

To this day currently, players all over the world have been waiting for the game to be released for the Playstation 3. It was rumored to come out late 2007, but then rumored to come out near the end of March 2008. Because of the extensive features that are being developed in the game, the release date for all the games are still unknown. In the video, you can see that one of the engineers works in order to create a wonderful enviornment for the game. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hopeful see this game released shortly.
